Turkey Dart Championship 2008

Posted by Raymond Van Barneveld, Dart Throwers Magazine

Greetings All,

Wanted to welcome you all to my new blog and make mention of some possible changes within this year's event.  Due to the fact that last year's event clocked in just shy of 13 hours, there will be a game change.  The details are still being hammered out, but more than likely there will be a game called 301 or possibly best two of three 301.  DTM was able to reach Sheila Pettis late last week for comment.

DTM:  How do you feel about the possible change in format from Cricket to 301?

SP:  What?

DTM:  The possible format change?

SP:  Weren't we playing 301 last year?

DTM:  Um no, you should have been targeting certain numbers like 20, 19, 18 etc.

SP:  Huh?

DTM: Forget it.

Anyway, Please check the blog for periodic updates.  Also, please feel to to post comments on your own.

Regards,
RVB

I'm wondering if there will be any handicapping for participants who are pregnant so as to avoid any charges of discrimination due to medical condition?

Also will Mr. Van Barneveld be calculating odds for the participants again this year?

Before determining this year's odds, there are a few bits of information I think you are going to want to take these things into consideration:

I now have a health club membership since last tournament. My strength, stamina and concentration have improved significantly.
Last year I did way better than mom, Vicki and (I think) Glenn and Nick. I don't think Nick's heart was really into it. The only reason I was unable to really show my true darting ability was because I got stuck with the mechanic first round.
I implore to you to seriously consider these facts before placing this year's odds.
